By far the rarest color variety for gem Scheelite is no color at all.  Typically the primary source for these are very small finds in Kern and San Bernardino Co., California.  These finds produce small, often under 2 carat stones that are finely laced with thin veils.  Once in a great while we see one of these stunning Chilean stones, quite capable of being in excess of 5 carats.  This one is simply gorgeous; Scheelite has high optical properties to begin with, so when paired with excellent clarity and precision US cutting they are quite dazzling. A small veil is visible face-down on one side, but is largely hidden in the brilliance of the stone when viewed face-up.  Lovely stone.
