While we have seen the very pale green and very light yellow examples of this mineral, a really nice medium yellow faceted stone is a rare variety indeed.  It is a fine medium, almost lemon yellow hue - a fine color amplified by the superb Russian cutting.  Datolites are bright and brilliant stones and a near 9 carat stone has a great presence.
