A magnificent example of a rarely faceted species. Sturmanite of any size is found only in South Africa and we have only seen a few small faceted stones previously - it does not produce large or particularly gemmy crystals. The superb US precision cut of the stone (Sturmanite has a hardness of only 2 1/2!) and the very large size for the species make this one particularly special. The color is the very best we have seen - a vibrant slightly greenish-yellow and the stone is extremely translucent for the species. Beautifully clean and of an extraordinary quality. A finer gem of this size simply could not be sourced.
