A large and particularly fine example of this rare species. This gem is profiled in the current (Summer 2019) issue of GIA’s journal Gems & Gemology as the first faceted example of this species ever seen in the Carlsbad lab. Moreover, it is the finest example we have personally seen as well; this species is very problematic and is often semi-translucent at best, a clarity issue that is often compounded with dark inclusions and fractures. This gem is a lovely, consistent faint yellow and is completely transparent - the finest clarity we have ever seen for Milarite. Additionally, the cutting is well done for such a rare material and size is nothing short of huge; a fine gem in excess of 2 carats. With the GIA identification report of course.
