A very large and visually impressive gem Sphalerite with the added attraction of a scarce US locale. Most examples of this species cut from US deposits come from limited areas of Colorado, New Mexico or New York - this is one of the few Montana gem we have offered. Quite distinct here is the color - most of the PC Mine material is a blend of green and yellow, this one is a fine deep brown with very noticeable red modifiers. Such a lovely and rich color, very scarce for faceted gem Sphalerite. The cutting is absolute precision and the gem is totally clean. A remarkable stone of exceptional size from this locality and a fantastic US collector's piece.
