You may not suspect it, but one of the more interesting locales for Peridot is along the beaches of the Canary Islands. The gemmy green pockets of small crystals appear in volcanic basalt, providing a darker, and considerably lighter, contrasting matrix than the Arizona material. These are not often worked, but we found an interesting example that was cabbed - aesthetic, interesting and large.
