Sphalerite is actually found in quite a few locales within the United States; the fragility of the material and the difficulty in cutting it prevents us from seeing more gem Sphalerite from the US in the market. As is, these are collector’s gems that offer a range of colors combined with the high optical properties of the mineral. We have had stones from New York and Montana previously so we now add to that a very lovely Colorado stone. A very flashy round, this stone has the predominantly green bodycolor that is somewhat more scarce - it is not unlike the Bulgarian stones that occasionally come up. Quite lovely.
