One of the most difficult of all species to cut and polish, Tremolite is famously temperamental. Over the years we have seen a few of these Burmese stones but they remain incredibly unusual and this is the largest we have been offered. What is particularly interesting here is that the stone has a light adularescent quality similar to Moonstone. It is a well-orientated milkiness that runs along the length of the piece and adds a good deal of visual interest. For the species, the cutting is quite respectable - there is one surface reaching cleavage plane in the righthand lower corner, but the gem is otherwise clean. Quite a rare gem indeed. This one will come with a GIT mini cert as Tremolite can be a difficult separation with standard equipment.
