Profiled several years back in GIA's Gems & Gemology, this material is from a small find in Pakistan. The color is very attractive and the stone has a remarkably fine polish for Calcite. What makes the stones from this find so interesting is the fascinating banded pattern of the color - this is apparent face-up and striking in profile. This very fine cab is one of the largest of these that we have seen - moreover, it is something of a bi-color as the green grades down to a lighter almost yellow tone from one end of the stone to the other. Great piece and quite fascinating.
