Simply a massive stone for the species, we can count on one hand the number of times we have offered clean and attractive Chrome Diopsides in weights over 5 carats. Stones of 1 carat are the norm, which works well as the rough simply is not inclined to cut larger stones and the material is dark; over 2 carats and the stones are simply not as bright. That said, this impressive gem still has a very respectable amount of brilliance and deep green flash - we have said no to stones of this size that simply had no life in them. For someone interested in one of the larger stones available, this is a very competitive piece.
