An uncommon faceted species, we haven't offered more than 2 or 3 Kurnakovites in the past. The rough is found in and around Boron, California and is one of a series of evaporative minerals that form in this famous deposit. Kurnakovite has a hardness of just 2 1/2 to 3 on the Moh's scale so it is a tough material to facet and is strictly a collector's stone. One of the scarcer US gem materials, well cut examples such as this are always difficult to source. This one is very well done and even shows a remarkable degree of brilliance for the material; really an amazing example of the species.
