A very rare faceted material, we almost never offer a Strontianite. Austria has produced some facetable material, yet even these are typically well under one carat - while not entirely transparent, this German example is certainly large and does give back a good deal of light. The mineral itself is, as the name suggests, a source of Strontium - in fact, one of the few minerals that contain this element. Both the element and the mineral are named for type locality in Scotland.
