While the Mexican deposit of facet grade colorless Danburite did produce a fair quantity of stones for this scarcer species, the cleanest and best gems were almost never of this outstanding size. Perhaps a 10 ct. here and there, but to see one of this weight is truly remarkable. And what is more, they really are a lovely material; the stones are for all intents and purposes colorless, but in fact show a very slight pink color on a white background. This seems to aid in the crispness of the stones as they are just so bright. Great cutting and entirely clean, certainly one of the very best gems to ever come from Charcas.
