A truly remarkable, museum grade stone from a well known US locale. One of the very few gem materials from this state, we see these only very rarely; always cut from older specimens on a one-off basis. Stones of this size and quality from US deposits are almost never available. Absolute precision cut and the classic color for the locale, this gem is bright and brilliant. A very few thin, fine needles can be seen with magnification but absolutely do not detract. Barite is soft and not easily cut, so the quality of the cutting and polish are quite remarkable. A great stone indeed.
