From a very remote deposit come this fascinating Ruby crystal. Many of these crystals have radiating inclusion patterns that follow the hexagonal structure of the mineral and create a traphice-like pattern. They make very attractive stones when cut and polished to feature this effect; particularly given that the ‘spokes’ often have some chatoyancy to them and will catch the light wonderfully. What we really cannot overstate is the difficultly of finding these stones with a perfectly centered pattern - almost all we have seen show the central point to be distinctly off-center. That is not at all the case here as everything is symmetrical and quite lovely. Popular but difficult to source in this quality.
