Pezzottaite is a difficult material - stones of top color tend to be quite included, and those that are (relatively!) clean tend to be much paler. This example has just about the best balance that you can hope for. While scattered with the typical inclusions, there is nothing overly distracting or eye-catching going on. Couple that with what is the absolute top color for the species - a deep and intense pink with a slight orange modifier and you have one of the best of these that we have had. Oh, and custom US cutting as well! A great stone and a collector’s species that is largely gone from the market now.
