Certainly one of the most obscure localities for Amber, let alone a faceted one. Aurora, North Carolina is know for producing fossilized teeth, but there is also a reasonably well known deposit of Amber in the fossil beds. This is an older gem, indeed is has some ‘craquelure’ like an old oil painting noticeable across the surface - entirely stable, just a stone that was cut years and years ago. Deep color and fairly surprising brilliance for the material. A very rare US Amber!
