In the realm of esoteric gems there would be few to compete with this one. Faceting Sulfur has always been a curiosity, though it has been done on occasion. With a Moh’s hardness of 2 it is quite a difficult undertaking - though it must surely be the intense color that tempts one to do it. This said, the few of these we have seen are typically not from US deposits - a gemmy, faceted US Sulfur is a rarity indeed. And then the size! We looked through decades of listing and found that we did once offer a small Michigan stone before - though nothing near this size. Largely transparent, this is as good as you are likely to see.
