The single largest and most impressive example of this mesmerizing gem material that we have been able to locate. The remarkable pleochroism is wonderful - the face-up mix of deep blue green and what is really a golden chartreuse is almost startling; there is simply nothing like this color combination anywhere else in the gem world. And this is indeed pleochroism - the color moves with the angle of light and it is not just a case of color-zoning. From this find, most of the stones are small, included or very poorly cut - the last two of these precluding the opportunity to see these wonderful colors at their best. It seems years that we have looked for a fine, larger example. A gorgeous round is almost more than we could have hoped for - one of the very finest of its type. These are very rare things and quite beautiful.
