As obscure and unusual a US gem material that you are likely to find. From the little known desposits of Orthoclase in Rabb Canyon, New Mexico comes this extremely large faceted example of true US Moonstone. The color is actually quite distinctive - a faint greyish-green that looks great on such a large gem; it would likely get washed out in a smaller stone. There is a single growth feature that is visible in roughly half the stone but, fascinatingly, does not obscure any of the traditional adularescence - that silvery Moonstone flash - which is perfectly centered across the table. Great cutting and a very impressive size, this is a conversation-starting US rarity.
