An intriguing new gem from a fresh find. This color is relatively unprecedented in Diaspore, there are some extremely small Burmese stones that are close, but which are more purple and which never come this large. This stone is medium puplish-pink with no real discernible color shift (in contrast to the well known Turkish material). Very attractive and entirely clean, this material has just hit the market with top quality stones in limited quantities. These are being investigated now and it is likely they owe their unusual color to manganese or chromium.
