The Damele Mine in Eastern Nevada produces a distinctive and collectible Turquoise. The unusual yellowish-green color is due to Zinc. The presence of this mineral also gives the Turquoise some added stability - it takes a very high polish. The uniqueness of this piece is due to the lovely assortment of colors here - the cellular structure frames gray-greens, yellows and deep 'butterscotch' hues in frames of light brown. This piece is not stabilized, it simply has a natural matrix backing for added strength. Lovely and distinctive.
