An unusual gem crystal on two fronts. Firstly, nicely formed Sinhalite crystals are quite rare - they exist mainly as extremely worn alluvial crystals from Sri Lanka. That brings us to the second point - the crystal’s rare locality. Sinhalite was first identified in Burma just a decade ago and gems are actually quite rare. As the species was actually named for Sri Lanka, it has always been strongly identified with this as the sole source. Really fine, light color and entirely facet grade - a fine gemmy rarity.
