Not a stone that we offer very often, but there seems to have been some renewed interest in this material recently. Moldavite is a name for a type of tektite silica that was created by an ancient meteorite impact. Like most ‘glass’ it has the characteristic bubbles and flow lines visible throughout. The color is distinctive and is a popular choice for those with dual interests in meteorites and gems. A fine old stone cut in Sri Lanka from some rough stored years ago.
