One of the most outstanding newer materials that we have seen in recent years.  Not only are these inclusion stones of the highest order - the geometric patterns form by the hematite are both dramatic and beautifully contrasted.  What really sets this material apart though is that the gem being included in orthoclase feldspar - that is to say, 'Moonstone' with its full adularescent qualities intact.  So you have this great looking piece that can surprise when rotated - the billowy effect of Moonstone flashing across the surface.  So great, we wish these were more readily available, but they are very hard to source in this, the highest quality.

Now that we have established the basics of the material, let’s discuss the quality of this piece. These almost always have some fracturing, however slight, that would preclude the idea of actually faceting one of these. If totally clean, the inclusions then tend to be so thick that any transparency would be decreased. This little gem is a superb balance and example of the very highest and rarest quality of this material so much so that it is currently the only truly faceted example that we have ever offered. The last photo shows the stone from the fully faceted pavilion. Great visual effects with the inclusions and the adualarescence of the Moonstone. Gorgeous and extremely rare.
