Probably the largest stone of this species we have ever offered. Though found mostly in Norway, the only source for gemmy rough has long been Mont Saint-Hilaire in Quebec. We have long liked the name of this species, of Greek origin it means ‘with more’ because Catapleiite is almost always found in association with other rare minerals. This example is nicely gemmy for material, none of the veils are overly distracting and the cutting is well done.
