Gem Serandite is an extreme rarity. Essentially only found as gem rough at the famed Mont Saint-Hilaire complex in Quebec, supplies of this gem have always been extremely limited. The distinctive color is outstanding and the cutting is very, very nice. The gem has quite respectable clarity for the material (this is a very problematic mineral and is rarely so 'gemmy') and the color is great - that perfect mix of pink and orange that is so attractive. A very difficult gem to source - we see precious few of these and this is the first we have seen in a long while that is above the benchmark 1 carat weight. We really have not done the stone justice here with macro photography, much of what comes through as ‘incluisons’ are reflections off of internal planes and so not nearly as apparent in standard lighting. Great size and quite rare.
