A great rarity, no doubt about it. New Jersey Zincite is the stuff of legend in the gem world, the deposit being the only locale for facet grade material - and one that has not produced in many, many years. Add in a stunning color - a vivid red that is among the most striking of any gem and you have a species that has always been a coveted rarity. Indeed, even small examples (less than 0.15 ct.) are now avidly sought if they have top color. And what a color!
