Kyanite is known for blue and bluish-green gems, but nothing anywhere near these orange specimens has ever been discovered before. This deposit has been producing Spessartine for a few years now and this discovery of Kyanite was a surprise to say the least. While we have seen a reasonable amount of low grade material, the truly gemmy pieces are few and far between. The color is excellent and the classic 'speck' inclusions are minimal and not distracting - there are none of the usual fractures at all. Excellent, fresh cutting (an outstanding job for Kyanite!) and a very nice polish. One of the best examples that we have had cut from this find.
