Here is something unexpected and quite special. While these Iranian Demantoids were being cut, it was noticed that they were strongly color zoned; so much so that they may make for interesting polished slices. Well, they do, to say the least! We have not encountered this type of strong zoning before - it progresses from a yellowish-green, through a bright pure green and into a deep green center. Really fascinating and extremely limited, we saw just a precious few of these at Tucson this year. Well done with both sides as well as the girdle highly polished.
