A remarkable gem rarity. The classic locality for this rare variety of gem quality Sphene is in Baja California, but those stones were heavily included at best. But what a color! It is a unique, intense 'chrome' green that is unlike the usual brown or yellow green from elsewhere. This limited Russian gems we have seen in the last decade have been magnificent - a Tsavorite like color indeed. Even these gems are typically included, this one being quite nice - just short of eye clean and superb custom cutting. One of the few of these on the market now.
