A relatively newly discovered rarity, Laurentthomasite is related to another rare gem species - Milarite. In contrast to those colorless stones however, Laurentthomasite is capable of a stunning vibrant blue-green color - something few rarities can boast. There is also a substantial pleochroism in the rough, and although we have seen a few gems prior to this one, none have been orientated to feature the very best color face-up. The pleochroism is strongly yellow and you simple see none of that here. Very fine US cutting and quite sizable for these, but doubly rare in this superb color - given the high clarity as well, we simply have not seen a better one. With full GIA lab report as well.
