A unique Beryl from a small deposit. The color is zoned into distinct bands when the stone is viewed directly table up (not so obvious at an angle), very similar to the famous material from Australia. This find was written up in the Journal of Gemmology- the chromophore at work is Chromium and, quite unusually, the stone is strongly fluorescent (375 nm) as a result. Rare and special little stone.
