A rather remarkable gemological curiosity. Perettiite is one of the newest discovered minerals, having been found and named just a few years ago. It is a complex boro-silicate mineral that was discovered as needle-like inclusions in Phenakite crystals from Mogok, Burma. Since the initial discovery, many many Phenakite crystals have been checked for this exceptionally rare inclusion - and only a minuscule few have been found to contain Perettiite. Well, we have taken this a step further and present what is surely one of the only examples of this find to have been faceted. The distinctive Perettiite crystals are visible throughout this fine faceted Mogok Phenakite. A marvel of a gem for those that appreciate rare minerals and inclusions.
