Truly gem grade, fully transparent Legrandite is almost impossibly rare. Once in a great while we will see a tiny gem cut from some fragment of a crystal but these are generally in the 0.05-0.10 ct. range. As a stone of 1/2 carat, this one is exceptional; well cut, just short of eye clean and with a fantastic color. The stone has a veil of fluid-type inclusions that, unfortunately, showed up quite dark in the photographs - this is due to the lighting and orientation of the stone, they are actually considerably less visible in person. Surely, one of the most vibrant and intense hues in the gem world. Simply a magnificent rarity!
