A great rarity that is going to be nearly impossible to replace. Sugilite is generally capable of being only semi-translucent if cut into very thin sections, it almost never is a truly gemmy transparent material. This gem is representative of the very best that Sugilite can be. The stone is fully translucent, and in fact, approaches transparent in some areas - considering this is a fully faceted gem and not simply a slice, this is quite an attribute.
Not only this, but the color is outstanding. An intense magenta shade. Vivid is not a word we use lightly, but is fitting for this stone. A superb collection piece.
