Something unimaginable until recently - a lovely and fine matched pair of accent Painites. Long one of the great rarities of the gem world, there were just two or three faceted examples of Painite known to exist. This changed around a decade ago when a relatively large find was made in Burma. These have since largely disappeared and transparent stones are difficult to find yet again. Almost always rather dark, this pair remains small enough to show off their complete transparency and fine, deep brownish-red bodycolor. The cutting is great and the gems are clean. This one took us awhile!
