Quite simply one of the rarest faceted stones in world, gem Carletonite comes only from Mont Saint-Hilaire in Quebec. Nearly all faceted examples or rough now comes from old collections and we haven’t offered this species in over a decade. The color is quite beautiful but the gem is soft, brittle and extremely difficult to facet - all of which adds to its rarity. This one is remarkably good - the beautiful symmetry of the cut and fine polish make it among the best we have ever seen. Essentially unavailable in the market.
