Taaffeite has long been the classic collector's gem. One of the few species first identified as a faceted stone, still significantly rare and yet durable enough for use in jewelry. In terms of color, one of the scarcest has to be the total lack of color - truly colorless Taaffeites are exceedingly hard to come by. This is a fine example, well cut and with a pleasant brilliance. A few insignificant inclusions that are quite low relief - greatly magnified by the photograph. A double dose of the rare.
