An exceedingly rare gem material,
Arfvedsonite is primarily known as a constituent of Sugilite - it is present as
veins in most of the commercial grade cabs that come out of South Africa.
Occurring at the same mine in very limited quantities are veins of Arfvedsonite
itself (likely Magnesio-Arfvedsonite) which occur as a lovely translucent
violet-blue material. A very attractive and superbly rare example with an
excellent color. One of the few available, faceted examples of
Arfvedsonite in the marketplace.
